A useful definition of
emotional well being is offered by the Mental Health Foundation1:
“A positive sense of
well being enables an individual to be able to function in society and meet the
demands of everyday life; people in good mental health have the ability to
recover effectively from illness, change or misfortune.”
What Contributes To Emotional Well Being?
Many factors
contribute to emotional well being, including genetics, exposure to sunlight,
diet and exercise, resiliency, what you spend time thinking about,
relationships and relationship skills, overall health, life experiences,
meaning and purpose, and more. As you can see, there are many areas available
to you to work on if you are interested in improving your emotional well being.
Mental and emotional well-being is essential to overall health.
Positive mental health allows people to realize their full potential, cope with
the stresses of life, work productively, and make meaningful contributions to
their communities
The implications of decreased emotional well-being are related
to mental health concerns such as stress, depression, and anxiety. These in
turn can contribute to physical ill-health such as digestive disorders, sleep
disturbances, and general lack of energy.

Mental Health Issues among the medical fraternity and also the rising Suicide
Rates in India among doctors! The only way to prevent these challenges is to
